At the Home of Martha and Mary Luke 10:38-42 NIVAs Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said .But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "You are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

Beautiful, are you distracted, upset and worried about many things?

What was the 'one thing' that Mary desired that was better than Martha?

Could it be?

Her ability to turn away from what the world would classify as beneficial?

Was it her desire to sit at the feet of her lord?

Was it her un-distracted devotion to Jesus?

Beautiful, Mary's heart beat for one thing and one thing only un-distracted devotion for Jesus. She choose to seek Gods face and heart and not the applause of his hands and the approval of others. Mary had a heart of pure devotion and understood that her life was well spent at the feet of the loving God.

Beautiful, are you like Martha? Are you distracted, upset and worried about many things?

Are you like Mary? Are you giving God un-distracted devotion?
